Terms of Use
Last updated August 19, 2026
These terms govern your use of AppHeard at appheard.com. By running a check, creating an account, or paying for a plan, you agree to them. If you use the service for a company, you confirm you can bind that company.
The service
AppHeard measures how often ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity name an iOS app on discovery questions we generate from the App Store listing. We ask through official APIs with web search on, sample more than once, and report rates.
API answers approximate — they are not identical to — what a consumer sees in a personalized chat. Scores are directional intelligence. Trends matter more than a single day.
Accounts
There is no password. We email a one-time sign-in link that expires in 15 minutes. You are responsible for the inbox you use and for activity under that account.
One email is one account. Do not share a login to evade plan limits. We may refuse or close accounts that abuse sign-in mail, the checker, or the engines.
What you may do
Use AppHeard to measure and improve how AI answers talk about apps you are authorized to represent.
- Submit App Store URLs for apps you own, publish, or are hired to market.
- Read the desk, export a PDF of your own report, and act on next moves yourself.
- Add custom prompts that are ordinary questions, not attacks on the engines or other users.
What you may not do
- Probe, scrape, or overload the site, the checker, or our engine budget.
- Resell raw answers or present our measurements as an official ranking from Apple, OpenAI, Google or Perplexity.
- Submit malware links, or use the product to harass a developer or fabricate reviews.
- Ask us — or use the product as if we had agreed — to post on Reddit, email publishers, or change your App Store listing for you. We do not.
Plans and payment
The free tier includes a limited desk: one app, the first discovery prompt in the clear, and upgrade gates on the rest. Paid plans (Starter, Plus, Pro) unlock daily re-asks, more apps, and the full report. Current prices and limits are on /pricing and may change for new purchases.
Paid subscriptions are billed by Polar, which is the merchant of record. Polar handles tax, invoices, and card data. You can subscribe from /pricing without an account; after payment we ask you to sign in with the same email Polar collected. Cancel in the Polar portal or from Settings; access continues through the paid period already charged.
Unless the law requires otherwise, fees are non-refundable once a period has started. A failed charge may keep the desk open for a short grace window, then pause tracking.
The free check
The check on /check is a one-off sample, rate-limited per IP and globally capped. It is not a substitute for a paid tracking plan. Cached results may be reused so we do not spend the same money twice on the same listing.
No affiliation
AppHeard is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple, OpenAI, Google or Perplexity. Product names are used to describe the surfaces we measure. App Store is a trademark of Apple Inc.
Your content and our measurements
You keep whatever rights you have in the App Store URLs and custom prompts you submit. You grant us a licence to use them to operate the service.
Category prompts, answers, and citations are our measurements. They may appear in a sample report or another account that tracks the same category. Your email and billing identifiers do not.
Disclaimer
The service is provided “as is”. We do not warrant that an engine will name you, that a next-move will change an answer, or that a score will match a chat on your phone. Engine APIs change. Listings go stale. We may skip a run when a vendor or our budget is down.
Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for lost installs, lost profits, or indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the service or from relying on a score.
Our total liability for a claim relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid us for the three months before the claim, or fifty US dollars if you are on the free tier.
Indemnity
You will defend and hold us harmless from claims that arise from apps you submitted without authority, from content you publish using our drafts, or from your breach of these terms.
Suspension and closure
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, that we cannot bill, or that puts the engines or other customers at risk. You may close the account by emailing hello@appheard.com. After closure, personal account data is handled as described in the Privacy Policy.
Changes
We may update these terms. The date at the top will change. Material changes will be noted in the product or by email to account holders. If you continue to use the service after an update, the new terms apply.
